Virtuality Experience Is the Immersive Remote Conference to Attend in December

Share

The next remote conference on XR is coming to a computer or headset near you. This time, it’s Virtuality, taking place everywhere on December 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

Virtuality Goes Virtual

The Virtuality Experience is the VR offering that replaces the physical conference that has historically taken place in France and Argentina. Attendees will be able to access the Manzalab Teemew-enabled environment through PC, Mac, or Quest to network in the virtual halls, attend talks in virtual auditoriums, and visit virtual exhibitor booths, all with a custom avatar.

“With COVID-19, we were unfortunately unable to organize our annual event in France and Argentina,” according to the event page. “We had to adapt to provide a solution and our industry inspired us to offer you, with Teemew Events, our first tradeshow 100% online: the Virtuality Experience.”

Tickets to this remote conference are completely free, however, would-be attendees must apply for access.

Exhibitors, Speakers, and Talks to Look Forward To

The event has attracted more than 50 exhibitors, including Microsoft, Lenovo, PTC, Taqtile, Healium, and PwC.

There will also be talks given by industry experts including

  • HP’s Joanna Popper;
  • Amy Peck of EndeavorXR;
  • Amy Hedrick of Cleanbox;
  • Unity’s Elizabeth Baron;
  • Othman Chiheb of Microsoft HoloLens;
  • Antony Pinto of NVIDIA;
  • Melanie de Riberolles of Ubisoft;
  • Rendever’s Kyle Rand;
  • Wendy Moore of Healium;
  • and Dave Haynes of Vive.

Analysts, authors, and commentators sharing their expertise and hosting panel discussions during the three-day remote conference include:

  • “Mad Scientist” Lucas Rizzotto;
  • “Spatial Network Evangelist” Andy Fidel;
  • “The Infinite Retina” author Robert Scoble;
  • Virtual Perceptions editor Tom Ffiske;
  • AIXR Chief Executive Daniel Colaianni;
  • and Jennifer Ren and Jason Lovell of PwC.

A full list of the more than 100 speakers can be found here.

These speakers will be hearing pitches, taking part in panel discussions, and giving presentations on topics including

  • XR business after COVID;
  • Experiential immersion for product creation;
  • How XR is transforming businesses, the economy, and how we learn;
  • Location-based experiences;
  • Global collaboration in XR;
  • The future of digital communication.

The full schedule is posted online.

Will We See You There?

Having attended more than a few of these remote conferences myself now, I can say that there is something bittersweet about them.

Of course we all look forward to returning to meeting in person, or to traveling to locations like Paris or Buenos Aires. However, creative, industrious, and truly immersive venues like this one make these experiences more accessible to more people. And, there is something beautiful about going to a VR conference in VR.
