Radiant Vision Systems’ Upcoming Webinar: Advanced Technology for Testing Virtual and Augmented Reality Displays

Share

Developing virtual and augmented reality displays requires a lot of attention to and concerns for the characteristics of the human eye. The display must be capable of creating realistic holographic superimpositions on the real world landscape, or a fully immersive environment, without harming eyesight. The realistic and immersive characteristics of VR and AR experiences are given by technical specifications, such as field of vision and real-time monitoring and interpretation of head movements.

Since actual people cannot be used as test subjects for new augmented reality displays and virtual reality lenses, the next best thing is a simulation of how the human eye works. Radiant Vision Systems will demonstrate just that in an upcoming webinar, on February 22, 2018: its breakthrough human vision replication technology, which can be used for testing VR and AR displays.

How Human Vision Replication Works

Radiant Vision Systems has been working for many years in the field of developing photometric imaging solutions. These solutions consist of custom designed optics which, paired with specialized software suites, are used to test near-eye lenses–the type used for virtual and augmented reality displays.

The technology takes into account several factors, such as position, eyesight limitations, and the specific characteristics of how images are formed on the retina of the human eyes. The company has recently launched its own AR/VR lenses, which allow the visualization of a complete field of view. The software suite, TrueTest™ Software, consists of various tests for the modulation transfer function, image distortion, and various other factors.

Human Vision Replication–a Valuable Advancement in Testing Augmented Reality Devices

The new human vision replication technology will be presented in the upcoming webinar by Eric Eisenberg, the Engineering Manager of Radiant Vision Systems. Mr. Eisenberg has extensive experience and know-how in the technical aspects of developing advanced systems for testing displays.

Radiant Vision Systems is a company focused on creating and delivering high quality testing and inspection tools for photometric imaging devices. Since August 2015 it has been a part of Konica Minolta Sensing Business Unit.

As mentioned above, the webinar will take place today, February 22, from 9:00 to 9:30 AM PST (12:00-12:30 PM EST). After the 30-minute presentation, participants will have the opportunity to obtain clarifications during a Q&A session.
