Developing new products and services requires lots of research, testing, rounds of trials and errors until a MVP emerges and moves on to production. Apprentice.io, a company developing AR solutions for the pharma and biotech industries, is aiming to make lab researchers’ work more efficient and insightful. The company has recently raised $8 million in Series A in order to launch the first conversational AI and AR platform.
An Intelligent AR Platform for Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Manufacturing and R&D
By combining artificial intelligence and augmented reality, Apprentice.io wants to offer a comprehensive workflow solution which serves the entire organization – from lab workers and researchers, to the manufacturing facility where innovative products are produced.
Using the conversational AI and AR platforms, in combination with HoloLens, Magic Leap or RealWear HMT-1, researchers will be able to access various procedures via 3D visualization and use computer vision to record or track data.
Angelo Stracquatanio, the co-founder and CEO of Apprentice.io stated:
We like to say that we don’t just augment reality; we augment human ability. AR and AI are changing the way workforces across all industries solve problems and share information, ushering in the next wave of human potential.
According to the company, the conversational AI and AR platform will be able to assist operators, scientists and engineers in all the aspects of their work, including:
- Augmented batch records
- Seamless R&D workflows
- Instant troubleshooting
- Technology transfer
- Hands-free operation using virtual data as guidance
- Instant communication with suppliers for equipment repairs
- Real-time collaboration at global level
- Eliminating the need to keep handwritten records of tasks and experiments performed
- Capturing, recording and dispatching data content for audits.
A Total of $10 Million Funding for the Conversational AI and AR Platform
The recent $8 million Series A funding adds to previously raised funding to make a total of $10 million available to deploy the project. The leading investor in the Series A round, Pritzker Group Venture Capital, was accompanied by new investors GFR Fund and the Venture Reality Fund, together with the existing investors already backing Apprentice.io: Silverton Partners and Hemi Ventures.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be collaborating with the leader in AR and AI. Angelo and his team of experts have a clear vision for what will be the next generation of enterprise AR. It was among the many reasons we were eager to invest at this stage”, declared Peter Liu, the Vice President of Pritzker Group Venture Capital.
