1. Stormland by Insomniac Games

This action adventure game places the player, in the form of an android, in an open world. After defeat in the Tempest event, the android lied dormant for centuries. Now it is time to wake up and reclaim its world.

This is one of the virtual reality games that requires players to be physically active. The android has to climb, slide, walk and even fly using physical gestures as prompters. It also must create its own weapons, break into strongholds and defeat powerful enemies.

2. Ghost Giant by Zoink Games

Not all virtual reality games out there are about fighting and extreme action. Here’s Ghost Giant, the story of a little boy who gets help to solve many puzzles from an unlikely friend: a giant ghost.

The game has Disney-like accents and is appropriate for younger players. But we’re certain that lots of adults will enjoy playing it, too. Ghost Giant will be launched for PlayStationVR later in 2019.

3. The Elder Scrolls: Blades by Bethesda Game Studios

Skyrim has already received VR updates, but fans of the series were looking for a fully redesigned VR game in the series. Until the saga is available among other virtual reality games, Bethesda is  ready to launch a spin-off from the main storyline.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades has all the excitement of a role-playing action game and offers three modes of play: Town, Arena and Abyss. Each mode offers a special, different gaming experience. The Arena mode is a multi-player mode, where you can compete with your friends. In the Town mode, the player must be successful in a series of missions, using weapons, spells or both. The Abyss mode places the player in a huge dungeon. The mission is to reach as far out of it as possible, by overcoming challenges at every corner.

The Elder Scroll: Blades was planned to be launched for mobile phones, with “console-quality gaming experiences”, according to the official Bethesda website. However, this has not happened yet but users can register for early access. Many gamers hope that the game will be also launched for popular VR platforms, such as HTC VIVE, Oculus Rift and PlayStationVR.

4. Zero Caliber by XREAL games

Zero Caliber is a first person shooter with the action set sometime in the near future. This is one of the virtual reality games where players can show off their guerilla warfare skills.

Shootouts take place in beautifully rendered locations, from natural landscapes to cities. You can play Zero Caliber on your own or in multi-player mode. The game features a wide range of weapons that can be customized in various ways.

Oculus Rift, HTC VIVE and Windows Mixed reality users have already got early access to the game in September. The official launch for all the other platforms will take place at the beginning of 2019.

5. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown by Bandai Namco Entertainment

The next installment in the Ace Combat franchise takes place in 2019 – the exact year when it will be launched. In the storyline, there is a conflict between the Osean Federation and the Kingdom of Erusea.

Fans of virtual reality games who prefer piloting planes to driving over land will certainly enjoy this opportunity to show off their skills in a realistic environment. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will get an early launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 18, 2019. The PC version will be available via STEAM starting with February 1.
