AES 2022 (Formerly EWTS) Event Preview

The Enterprise Wearable Technology Summit is now the Augmented Enterprise Summit, or AES for short. But, a name change isn’t all that you might miss letting this one pass you by. Here, we’ll take an advance look at what this year’s summit has in store – and how readers of ARPost can get discounted admission.

Looking Back at AES

AES has been an annual event since 2015 and is produced by BrainXchange, a company promoting the “enterprise XR metaverse.” The event is well-attended by enterprises using XR wearables, making it different from other summits that are largely the same collection of XR companies promoting their own products and services.

That’s not to say that the big players aren’t there. Big news from past summits include Google expanding support for the second generation of their enterprise-focused AR display and RealWear’s partnership with Zoom.

Perhaps the biggest draw for attendees is that enterprise is in the title. While we’re all very interested in the myriad of use cases for XR wearables, gaming and entertainment do have a way of dominating a lot of less laser-focused events.

Looking Forward to This Year

This year’s agenda includes over 70 sessions and an expo hall, presented together by over a 1000 companies from Avery Dennison to Whirlpool. Of course that includes XR solution providers like Lenovo, TeamViewer, AREA, ArborXR, and RealWear, among others. There’s even more XR representation on the expo floor, including Vuzix and Cleanbox.

Each day of the three-day conference also opens with a keynote, which is always promising. Keynote speakers include Lenovo GM of XR & Metaverse Vishal Shah. The first day will feature an opening keynote from Qualcomm, though the speaker has yet to be announced. The opening keynote for day three is also unannounced as of this writing.

Of course, the schedule is also full of case studies, panel discussions, and networking opportunities with over 700 attendees anticipated to attend.

How to Attend

AES 2022 will take place on October 18 – 20. Like many events, AES went all-virtual during the darkest days of the pandemic. However, they’re back in-person now in San Diego, California.

Virtual attendance is still an option, with virtual-only passes at $300 for end-users and $1,500 for non-end users.

One-Day, Two-Day, and Three-Day in-person passes are also available, as are accommodations in the Town and Country Resort Hotel, with block rates still available until September 26.

More Information

For more information including a downloadable guide and options to add the event to your calendars, visit AES on the ARPost Events page. ARPost readers also get 15% off of their admission by entering promo code ARPOST15 during registration.

In the meantime, keep your eyes on ARPost social media profiles and your inbox for emails from us (if you are not subscribed to our newsletter yet, you can do that here) as we will also be hosting a ticket giveaway soon.
