Submitting Guest Posts

General Information

IMPORTANT
Please take some time to read some of our articles and understand which topics we are focused on (XR technology – augmented, virtual, and mixed reality, and metaverse), before submitting your piece. Guest posts that are not relevant to what we cover will not be taken into consideration.

Please also note that the submission of your guest post does not guarantee publication.

If you would like to submit your article for review, please fill out this form.

We’ll respond as quickly as we can to your submission, but please note that we aren’t always able to provide feedback on rejected stories. If you don’t hear from us regarding your submission after 2 weeks, feel free to submit it somewhere else.

After your submission has been reviewed, and in case it fits ARPost and will benefit our readers, we will get in touch with you via email. We might make some edits, or provide some editing suggestions.

Please note that we usually cannot tell you the exact date your post will be published ahead of time. However, we will notify you the day your post goes live (or one day in advance if possible).

*** ARPost does not offer monetary compensation for guest posts, nor does it charge for publishing guest posts.

Most Common Guest Post Formats

  • Industry news/ trends posts
  • Perspective/ Opinion / Commentary posts (you are free to draw from your own experiences to support your ideas, or focus on practical examples)
  • Thought Leadership posts (based on solid industry knowledge, a good grasp of current trends and events and deep insight into a potential problem or challenge)
  • ‘How-to’ posts / Guides (posts that explain to ARPost readers how to do something)
  • ‘What’ posts (posts that introduce or explain a specific concept)
  • ‘Why’ posts (posts that explain why – emphasizing the importance or significance of a certain topic)
  • Listicles (content that is wholly or partly in the form of a list, presenting a number of reasons, secrets, types or ways of doing something)
  • Fun posts (posts that are meant to entertain readers)
  • Reviews (guest authors cannot write reviews of their own AR/VR/MR app/platform/software/hardware, only 3rd party. If you want our team to review your services/products, click here).

Writing Guidelines

General

  • Length – A minimum of 500 words, but we prefer 800-1000 words articles.
  • Paragraphs – Dividing your content into clear paragraphs makes it easier for users to read.
  • Be sure to include a headline and a tagline (short text which serves to clarify or specify the headline), as well as subheadings (use H2-H4 headings).
  • Posts should be unique (not previously published anywhere else, and original, i.e. not plagiarized or semi-plagiarized), supported by examples, details, and/or data.
  • Be sure to disclose conflicts of interest, such as partnerships with, or investments in, any companies mentioned in the post.

Writing Style & Tone

DOs:

  • Use everyday language.
  • Keep it simple and conversational.
  • Be clear in your communication.
  • Be human (ask yourself: “Does this sound like something a human would say?”).
  • Keep sentences short and to the point.
  • Pay attention to spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Capitalize your article headline and subheadings (this tool can help).
  • Numbers nine and below should be spelled out, and numerals should be used for numbers 10 and above. A number that begins a sentence should be spelled out rather than noted as a numeral, even if the number is below 10.
  • For percentages, use the percent sign (%).
  • Use one space after all punctuation.
  • Use the Oxford comma.

Note: We reserve the right to edit the post as needed for style, content, length, etc. ARPost’s policy is to, when possible, give guest authors a chance to review our edits before posting, but we retain final editorial control.

DON’Ts:

  • Overuse jargon.
  • Overuse acronyms.
  • Overload with facts and figures.
  • Stuff your content with fluff and filler (unnecessary details and too long sentences without value).

Note: We will not accept hard-to-read and hard-to-understand writings. Due to time constraints, submissions that require excessive editing can’t be accepted.

We strongly advise linking, as it benefits the reader and your story (of course, link stuffing is unacceptable). All stats and data must come from a reputable source. Include a link back to your source at the point of use in the text. Do not create a bibliography or source list at the end of the article, or use footnotes. Anchor text needs to be relevant to the page you’re linking to, rather than generic.

Acceptable links:

  • Relevant articles and blog posts.
  • Research, studies, or other relevant data.
  • Resources that will genuinely benefit the reader and make sense in the context of the post.
  • Links to the company website, product page, app page, iTunes or Google Play Store app page – for 3rd party companies, products, and apps you are mentioning or reviewing.

Unacceptable links:

  • Affiliate links.
  • Author’s own company links (author’s company will be mentioned in the author bio section, with a link to the website homepage).
  • Client’s company links (for SEO and marketing agencies).
  • Author’s own product/service/pricing pages.
  • 3rd party links that are clearly inserted for promotion of that company/website and do not genuinely benefit ARPost readers, are unnatural, or do not clarify any part of your content.

Note: Make sure any links in your post are relevant and valid. Links considered to be irrelevant to the main idea of your post will be removed without prior notice. Likewise, any links with an unnatural connection between the link and the anchor text will be removed without notice, as well as any non-working links. Our editorial team reserves the right to add rel=”nofollow” to any link.

Media

Whenever possible, try to include media such as images, videos, graphs, tweets, etc. to illustrate your story. Please only include images that you have rights to or that are available under creative commons license, and be sure to include image credits and links (note: the ARPost editorial team reserves the right to replace or remove images they deem irrelevant to the post or have negative connotation without prior notice).
